Rise and Shine: Starting the Day Right
My alarm goes off at 6:00 AM, and I’m up and ready to tackle another day as a technician at Highlands Quality Climate Control. After a quick breakfast and coffee, I’m out the door by 7:00 AM, headed to our first call of the day.
Morning: Troubleshooting a Faulty Furnace
Our first stop is at a residential home in Denver. The homeowners reported their furnace isn’t heating properly. Upon arrival, I:
- Greet the customers and listen to their concerns
- Inspect the furnace and identify the issue (a faulty ignitor)
- Explain the problem and solution to the homeowners
- Replace the ignitor and test the system
With the furnace back up and running, we’re off to our next appointment.
Midday: Routine Maintenance at a Local Business
After a quick lunch break, we head to a local restaurant for some preventative maintenance on their HVAC system. This involves:
- Changing air filters
- Cleaning coils and checking refrigerant levels
- Lubricating moving parts
- Inspecting ductwork for leaks
Routine maintenance like this helps prevent costly breakdowns and ensures optimal system performance.
Afternoon: Emergency Plumbing Call
Our last stop of the day is an emergency plumbing call. A homeowner has a burst pipe in their basement. We:
- Quickly locate and shut off the main water supply
- Assess the damage and explain the repair process to the homeowner
- Replace the damaged section of pipe
- Check for any additional leaks or issues
Wrapping Up: Back to HQ
After a busy day, we head back to Highlands Quality Climate Control headquarters to:
- Restock our service vehicles
- Complete paperwork and file invoices
- Debrief with our team about the day’s challenges and successes
As I head home around 6:00 PM, I feel satisfied knowing we’ve helped keep Colorado comfortable and safe. Another day of expert HVAC and plumbing service complete!
